Helen Sadowy Reimann
Painter in Oils

I've included a sampling of works by my mother because her work has influenced the development of my own. Mom's paintings are characterized by richly saturated color and loose brushwork. She does an equal number of portraits and landscapes, but I've chosen to include mostly her landscape work because I like how she pushes the landscape so that it becomes something fantastic and a little alien. She tries to do most of her work on site, but will work from photographs during the winter (and also sometimes in the deep of summer, when she's tired of looking at the overbearing New England greens).
